Why should I join CHARM?

● CHARM is a great forum to network with individuals from all areas within Healthcare Risk Management. Our membership includes Risk Managers, Quality Managers, and Safety Managers from most Colorado hospitals. We also welcome vendors who specialize in the Healthcare Industry.

Who should attend CHARM?

● Anyone connected with Healthcare Risk Management in any way can benefit from CHARM. This includes Hospital Risk Managers, Quality Managers, Safety Managers as well as vendors such as Insurance Company Representatives, Insurance Brokers, Third Party Administrators and Attorneys.

How often does CHARM meet?

● CHARM meets 5 times each year. We provide 4 educational sessions per year and one social event around the holidays. The educational sessions usually include lunch and at least two different topics and speakers.

Where are the sessions held?

● Most sessions are held at the COPIC Insurance offices in Denver. The Annual Conference is usually held in the Denver Metro area.

How are the educational topics decided?

● The Executive Committee of CHARM along with input from the members through the program evaluations set the program topics. We always welcome suggestions for topics and speakers.

Can I receive CEUs for attending?

● Each session is approved for at least 2.0 ASHRM Continuing Education Credits.

How much are the dues and when are they paid?

● The dues are only $90 annual and payable at the beginning of each year. Your dues allow you to attend each program and the holiday party at no charge. This is a real bargain.

How is information sent to the membership?

● All notifications are sent via email distribution.

How can I become involved with the Board of Directors?

● Just ask the CHARM President or President Elect. We are always recruiting new members to the Board of Directors to assist with programming and corporate sponsorship and other projects.

What is CHARM?

● CHARM is a group of professional healthcare Risk Managers who meet to enhance the practice of healthcare risk management by providing information and education to its members. CHARM is a state organization which is a sub group of the national organization ASHRM.

How much is it to join CHARM?

● $70.00 which includes free attendance for the member at each educational session.

What will the benefit be for joining?

● Educational topics and updates on “hot” Risk Management topics. Networking with fellow Risk Managers from Colorado as well as speakers from departments such as the CDPH&E Health Facilities division and occurrence reporting, DEA, Board of Nursing, law enforcement to name a few. A place to talk about the Risk issues we each encounter daily in a friendly, safe environment.
