What is CHARM

CHARM is a professional association of concerned Risk Managers, Industry Representatives, Sponsors, and professional, clinical participants in the Colorado area. Members and guests from surrounding states are encouraged to participate with Colorado CHARM.

CHARM is organized as many similar groups utilizing bylaws with elected executive managers including president and support staff.

CHARM has a direct association with the national Association of HealthCare Risk Managers (ASHRM).

Meetings

Meetings are held generally quarterly on the first Thursday of the month at varying locations to allow more participation. Meetings occur in the afternoon period of the day. Regular meetings consist of information dissemination of current factors or changing legislation affecting the Healthcare Risk managers.

Annually, a major training and information seminar is held for the benefit of the organization, usually a day-long event. This year the seminar will be held on May 1st at The Children's Hospital in Aurora Colorado.

Networking

Since many influential and informed persons attend CHARM, it is an excellent forum to network and meet peers. Discussions on various topics occur at the training portion with more direct networking and information-sharing occurring before and after the meeting.

Education Opportunities

At CHARM we try to present topics that are relevant or imminent to the Risk industry. Prominent speakers are summoned to educate and give a better perception of the industry movement. Generally each speaker expounds about 90 minutes. Then interaction with Q &A sessions are held. At high level education sessions, continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are given. The entire association is beckoned to give relevant topics and those suggestions are pursued for the future education sessions.

Involvement

Anyone from the industry is welcome to join and directly participate in CHARM. As in anything, the more that you are involved with the organization the more you will get out of it. So please join and make the world a better place!

Director of Case Management-near Denver

398-bed hospital, Level 2 Trauma Center.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing the clinical case management program. This position provides leadership, direction and support for Case Management Services in the pursuit for best practice to achieve quality outcomes, reduce costs, and shape and interpret the standards required to ensure a high degree of patient, physician and employee satisfaction. This position may also have responsibilities for other facility-specific patient outcomes. Exempt position.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field, or equivalent experience. Requires RN license in state worked (CO), or LCSW.

Must possess demonstrated flexibility in responding to the needs of multiple constituencies with a service-oriented philosophy. Must also possess demonstrated skill in problem analysis, project management, contract negotiation, conflict resolution and oral/written presentation. Requires strong working knowledge of utilization management, care management, regulatory standards and reimbursement across the continuum of care. Prefer Master's degree in nursing, business, or health care management. Managed care experience a plus.

Director Risk Management-Denver, CO

will direct the clinical risk management program, including the functions of clinical risk management, claims management, program administration and risk management. Reports to VP Business Development. BS required and CCU, ARM, CPHRM or other risk management certification a plus.

3-5 years of management experience

Master's preferred but not required.

Providing overall leadership and strategic planning for the Case Management and Social Services departments. Providing and/or overseeing department/program evaluations development of goals, creation and implementation of actions plan's. Communication the direction, vision and values of the Organization.

Prefers 3-5 years of director level experience in acute hospital case management. Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude ability to perform in complex and stressful situations.

5 years experience with performance improvement activity.

Knowledge of Managed Care.
